We would like to take this moment to fill you in on a bit of family
history and advise you of the services we offer. Since 1902 our family has been servicing the east
end of the Long Island, providing a wide variety of services, from
Hampton Bays to the point of Montauk.
Over the
years we have grown with the times and needs of the east end residents,
starting out as a company supplying wood, coal, grain and bluestone to
the community. Things began to grow and so did our family’s business.
We then started the fuel oil business, in the late 1930’s providing a
more comfortable means of heating. In the mid 1980’s Rodney Herrlin
joined my family in the business starting outside as a mechanic,
technician, driver and working his way through every aspect of the
company, eventually leading to his current appointment as Vice
President/owner of the company. My cousin Chris Schenck joined us in
the early 90’s and we began to grow .
As the east
end continued to grow so did we. We expanded our horizons in 1997, with
the purchase of a local heating, air conditioning and refrigeration
company, “March Equipment,” servicing restaurants and high end homes
with commercial appliances. We also entered the new construction field.
In 2002 we saw the need to offer another service to the community and
started up a Cesspool pumping company ”Schenck Cesspool Service” Aiming
our sights on all the needs of all homeowners and commercial users, in
2004 we started “Schenck Gas Services” offering a full service propane
company still with that down home family touch, this led us to “
Schenck Power Systems” offering installations of whole house/ standby
generators, once again offering a much needed service to our
community.Rodney Herrlin and Christopher Schenck (both Fifth generation
family members in the business) are continuing the legacy of our
family. We strive for excellence and will accept nothing less. In Late
2008 our dream of the Family Quick Stop became reality after 10 years
of trying to get the approvals from Riverhead town , another family
venture has taken off .
It would be our pleasure if you let our family take care of yours now, and for years to come. |
